Districts
A district is a geographic division that encompasses an optimal number of groups, carefully chosen to ensure that committee members can easily maintain frequent communication with them, understand their challenges, and actively work towards their development and welfare
Districts are encouraged to conduct their operations in a manner that is most convenient and aligned with their individual locations and customs. It has been identified as highly beneficial for both the Area and District levels for each District to provide representation to the Area. This practice fosters effective communication, coordination, and collaboration between the two levels, enabling them to work synergistically toward their respective goals and objectives.
Purpose
The primary purpose of districts is to effectively carry the message of recovery to those who are still suffering from alcoholism. Through monthly district meetings, we come together to discuss how our groups are fulfilling this vital mission and collaborate to find ways to carry the message that individual groups may struggle with on their own. In cases where groups encounter challenges, we openly share our experiences, draw from our collective strength, and offer hope to support one another.
Additionally, districts actively participate in Area 39 Western Missouri activities and extend support to our Area Delegates in their preparations for the annual General Service Conference. By working hand-in-hand with our Area counterparts, we contribute to the shared vision of carrying the message of recovery far and wide and collectively strive towards the common goal of helping those who still suffer from alcoholism find the path to lasting sobriety.
